Jaume Punti arrived in Uruguay in 2003 looking for new horses and riders.
On this occasion Mr Puntí purchased twelve horses for the 2003-2004 season in the United Arab Emirates.
Meeting those the management´s expectation.
In 2004 Jaume Puntí founded the first Endurance Horse Training Center in Uruguay called LA UNION.
With a clear objective, for it to become an Endurance Horse Reference Point in America and a place to concentrate all horses intended to compete in Europe and the U.A.E.
The training center, managed by Pio Olascoaga Silveira, it´s situated in Capilla de Cella, the region of Canelones.
About 70km from Montevideo, capital of Uruguay, and about 60km from the tourist capital of Latino America, Punta del Este.
The 218 hectares(539 A), divided in 90 paddocks, of La Unión are of excellent quality.
Today there are sixty horses in training with a staff of thirty people; training the horses, caring for the cattle and maintaining the excellent facilities.
The bloodlines of the horses varies between arab, most part of them, crossed arab,anglo arab,and a some pure breads.
Some of this horses were ridden by arabic juniors at the 2007 Argentina Junior World cup, where they won silver medal for their team.

With time La Unión has been considered one of the best centers of endurance training in the world.
In a national level, the races have from 140 to 180 entries; great participation if you compared it to the early days with 20 entries being a good participation.
